Great Drive for right price!.......2007-04-12

This drive is perfect for someone who keeps them on their key chains and/or keeps them exposed to the elements. For example, I keep mine on my keychain that I clip to my belt loop. I am an aircraft mechanic in the air force so I am climbing all over the airplane and in tight spots. I have dropped it from 50 ft in the air onto concrete before. Also, my wife likes to wash my pants without looking in the pockets first. Needless to say, my first Pretec was the 512 MB plastic drive and even after dropping it and it getting washed, worked perfect except the drive came out of the plastic housing. So I upgraded to the bulletproof/water proof drive and am very happy with it. If the plastic one stood up to the punishment I know this one will exceed it. I keep all my military and personal files on it for easy access due to the fact that I need them very often (comes in handy when writing evaluation reports and everyone and their brother wants to edit it and when there is no blackberry around, this is perfect). Now, it is a bit bulky for those tiny recessed USB ports but as for the monitors that have them on the side or towers and laptops that have them pretty much flush with the side...it works great. If you have a USB port that is recessed it probably will not fit without an extension. Small price to pay considering that most computers these days have more than one USB in more that one location so chances are it will fit somewhere on your computer. It is very inexpensive and looks good. It is about the size of a normal highlighter cap or about 1/4 to 1/2 the size of a tiny bottle of eye drops. This thing is small. You will not be disappointed.

Out of the box ...I loved it. Pluged it into my desktop at home and worked perfect. But when I got to work went to plug it in the USB slot it would not fit due to the slot was recessed in about 1/4" It also would not fit in my Sony VIAO laptop. I guess I will be buying an extention cable to use with this flash drive. But I have no doubt this one will not break in my pocket as my last one did.
