the cap that closes the pen part of the stylus is held on by a samll divot thing, it usually comes off of the pen before the stylus comes out of the holster, it also extends less than the stylus that came with the hermes(Tytn, 8525) so it is harder to hold, also i think the stylus divot that holds the whole thing in the holster is slightly bigger, so it almost ruined the stylus hole in my tytn and made it so it could not hold any stylus, it is however a good pen, and very convenient which is why i gave it a 2

Ordered this and a couple other accessories for my 8525, so far a very disappointing order but this item is the worst of the lot.

The 'cap' that covers the ballpoint pen is held on by nothing but friction. The stylus is held in the phone by friction. The friction holding the stylus into the phone is MUCH stronger then that holding the cap onto the pen, and the coup de grâce? It's of course the cap you have to pull on to get the stylus out of the phone.

Well that's not true. You pull on the cap to get the cap out of the phone then you use needle-nose pliers to get the rest of the stylus out of the phone (and into the nearest trashcan).

Even if there was a better system of holding the cap on (don't know what it'd be, threads in the cheap plastic of the cap would give way immediatly... it'd have to be a metal cap with threads) every other point of this design is also flawed. The pen is on the side that easily telescopes back into the stylus (more easily then the original stylus), leaving you with something shorter then a toothpic to write with. '3 in 1' is a load of something because the default stylus that comes with the phone fits into the reset hole.
