The CD player can be used outdoors because of a heat-resistant, polycarbonate body design.SHOCKWAVE portable CD players have been designed to virtually eliminate CD skipping under normal listening conditions, and the 48-second backup memory provides further assurance of a near perfect, skip-fee listening experience. SHOCKWAVE portable CD players feature Power Last function, which makes two standard AA batteries last exceptionally long. However, there are also other ways to operate these portable CD players. But no matter what power source you use, the auto-power off function shuts off your player once your CD ends. Both the charger and the case work fine. The case is well made, though it's a "universal" not specific to the Katana phone I bought it for. There's a small amount of extra room, front to back, but the phone fits snuggly and won't come out by accident. The closure is magnetic and stays shut.
