The SL-SW950R SHOCKWAVE portable CD player is a great companion on the go. Like all other SHOCKWAVE CD players, it is ultra-tough and has a compact, water-resistant design. It is equipped with a one-touch lock & release system, which is designed to keep the top cover of the player firmly attached, even under rugged conditions. The CD player can be used outdoors because of a heat-resistant, polycarbonate body design.SHOCKWAVE portable CD players have been designed to virtually eliminate CD skipping under normal listening conditions, and the 48-second backup memory provides further assurance of a near perfect, skip-fee listening experience. SHOCKWAVE portable CD players feature Power Last function, which makes two standard AA batteries last exceptionally long. However, there are also other ways to operate these portable CD players. Two economical options are using rechargeable batteries, or an AC adapter, which lets you plug your portable CD player into an outlet. Your portable CD player can also be used in a car with a car power adapter. Simply plug the adapter into your cigarette lighter and you're ready to go. And no matter what power source you use, the auto-power off function shuts off your player once your CD ends. You can enjoy listening to CDs that you make, since these portable CD players enable playback of CD-R and CD-RW discs. The classic-style headphones, included with the SL-SW950R, are extremely light and deliver spectacular stereo sound. You can program SHOCKWAVE CD players to play a CD at random, in a specified order, or to repeat one song or the whole disc, letting you enjoy your favorite tunes in any order. Don't immerse it in a pool or tub, but don't let a light rain deter you from that morning jog, either.
The player has been designed to virtually eliminate skipping under normal and most active listening conditions. Panasonic's Digital Servo system assures precise focus servo and tracking servo operation for high vibration resistance. However, if a shock does occur, you'll enjoy 48 seconds of backup memory to help your music continue as if nothing happened.
With just two AA batteries (not included), the SL-SW950R will give you up to 40 hours of playback time. This feature is not only economical, but also environmentally friendly, since it reduces battery consumption. Alternatively, you may power the player using an optional 4.5V AC/DC adapter.
Other conveniences include a hold switch (which negates state changes during transport or listening), playback of recordable CD-R and CD-RW discs, 24-track programming, random play, repeat play (one track or an entire disc), S-XBS (Extra Bass System) to give your music an added bass boost, Train mode high-frequency reduction for less fatiguing--or simply less conspicuous--listening, and a pop-up eject system to simplify disc removal.
