Not as great as I expected.......2007-02-27

I ordered this product after having to replace my Cingular 3125 because the keypad became inoperable. I figured a protective cover would help decrease damage that might occur in accidental dropping of the phone and getting tossed around in my purse. I orderd the FlexSkin through the BoxWave web site. The product came as advertised and very fast. However, what you may not notice from the pictures:

1. The keypad is totally covered by the skin. If you order the Jet Black color (which blends in the most with the phone) this means you can't see your keypad at all! This is very problematic with using the keypad, for example: the backlight doesn't show through and you can't text message very well. This might work better with some of the tranparent colors.

2. The phone will not close with both covers on. Due to the thinkness of each sleeve (one that goes over the top part of the phone and one that goes over the bottom). The phone never closes fully. This hurts the battery and prevent you from viewing the front phone display.

NOTE: I cut mine down with a razor blade to make the keypad show and make the phone close all the way and it works OK. The overs slide around all the time and look awful. I will be ordering a different style cover.

Very protective.......2006-12-08

This is nice "body armor" for your cell phone. I agree that it does obscure somewhat the backlit keypad, BUT if you need to, the keyboard slides out with a minimum of applied effort. (It won't come off accidentally or if you don't want it to, but if you need to take it off, just apply firm pressure and it slips out.)
I have found the silicone (I guess) armor to be highly protective and reasonably attractive. It does add a slight amount of thickness. I find the "lack of sliperyness" of use in helping make sure my cell phone stays in my pocket or in my hand when I'm using it. It doesn't get dirty easily, but it wipes off with a damp cloth.
Overall, it's protective features outweigh the slight incoveniences above. Also, it does not obscure the microphone or side switches for the camera or volume from operating. It's a nice quality product, and has come in handy on the two occasions I have dropped my phone on a hard floor.

Opaque keypad cover.......2006-11-22

One sleeve covers the screen area; that's fine. The other covers the keypad; that's not so fine. It's embossed, but it covers the keys! Even if you can remember which letters are on which keys, the embossing is inivisible in low light, which is especially frustrating given that the keypad is backlit.

I used a leather punch to cut holes in the embossed area and used a small sewing scissors to enlarge them. It's an ugly solution, but at least I can see the keypad now (until I find a case that works).

The case is made of a rubber-like material, which sort of sticks to fabric, making it harder to get into or out of my pocket than a leather case would.
