Although the XP-V506C is part of Aiwa's 1999 lineup of entry-level personal CD players, it does come with more accessories than any of Aiwa's basic models. That means it comes with a car kit that lets you play CDs through your in-dash cassette deck and power the 506C through your car's cigarette lighter. The comes with a 10-second shock buffer that's good enough for skip-free play during a brisk walk or a drive on a country road - depending on your car's shocks of course. Aiwa has improved power management in its 1999 models. The V506's can milk up to 14 hours of playback time from new alkaline batteries - as long as you disable the shock protection. The V506 can charge NiCd batteries with its included AC adapter.
