Basic reliable laptops........2006-12-17

The L35 series satellites are reliable, basic laptops. They are quite simple and has a professional looking all black inner panels and silver top panel. With 256mb RAM and a 40GB harddrive, I wouldn't pay over $600 for it. That configuration is good if you only use it for web surfing, word processing etc. I have 512MB and 80GB on my L35(msrp$699) and it's so far proven to be a very reliable 2nd laptop. The screen has a matte finish, not glossy. It's quite bright but there's some glare unless you get the right viewing angle. The chasis seems to be marginally thinner than the regular satellites. If you're looking for a super sexy laptop look elsewhere. Also it has no firewire input, but it does have 2 usb, also has wifi built in. It comes with all the expected basic software MS Office, WinDVD, anti-virus(trial version), Picasa2(photo editing) and some simple games. The L35 satellites are basic reliable laptops and you shouldn't have to pay full suggested retail price for them.
