Does everything I need and for under $50 -WOW! Have done both CD's & DVD's. Simply install and off you go, no problems what so ever; even moved it to an older machine to back some copies - again flawless.

I wanted a DVD Rewriteable drive that could handle any for (+, -, DL, etc) which the Sony drive handles perfectly. No problem with +RW, -RW and -R discs. The other vital criteria for me was that the drive was quiet. The Lite-On DVD +/-RW drive I had before the Sony was EXTREMELY noisy during operation. The Sony drive is very quiet, but it also writes quickly and reliably. I am very happy with the drive and fully recommend it.
