Like a smoke detector WRP-50 All-Hazards Alert Radio with NOAA Reception supplies instant alerts to a dangerous situation. In the event of a pending emergency, radio turns on to broadcast a warning. After a natural or man-made disaster, the radio broadcasts information from the government regarding the disaster and appropriate precautions and procedures.
The U.S. Government encourages every home, office, and school to have an All-Hazards Alert Radio with NOAA reception.
This radio is the easy to program. It uses scroll down menus on a wide screen to allow selection of the area for which you wish to be alerted. This radio has S.A.M.E. (Specific Area Message Encoding) technology that eliminates false warnings. In sleep mode the radio remains silent until an emergency.
This radio also gives 24 hour weather updates at the touch of a button.
