1 out of 5 stars Vista "not ready" trouble.......2007-05-21

I'm running Vista Ultimate with a NVIDIA 7900 GS graphics card, on a recent HP Pavilion desktop. I'm experiencing total freezes, scrambles, blank screens (that require turing the monitor off and back on to get a picture).
The EzTune rotation software did not work with Vista, and although a "new driver" that EzTune support was unaware of was available, I cannot recommend this monitor for Vista AT ALL.
Seems to be very good for XP SP2.

3 out of 5 stars Stay away from this if gaming.......2007-04-12

The inverse ghosting on this model is horrible and gets you a bad gaming experience with trailing as big as a full centimeter long black trail, do yourself a favor and look at the Dell, LG, BenQ, etc.

Desktop use is a pleasure, backlight bleeding is not that bad but it is there on a couple of corners, banding is not a problem for me.

5 out of 5 stars Awsome.......2007-04-11

I was a little tepid at buying a Gateway but I loved the features offered over the competing products (auto rotate for one). After having used this monitor for over a month I can only say wow! An incredible improvement over my old 19" as it lets me see more of the desktop and application I am using, on the web the auto-rotate is awesome as it reduces the amount of scrolling I do :). I ahven't noticed any artifacts while gaming either (whew) and no dead pixels.

Overall best peripheral purchase in a long time.

5 out of 5 stars As advertised and a little more.......2007-03-25

Resolution is very good. I love the flexibility. Easily swivels and rotates, which enables me to take full advantage of the big screen. Download movie resolutions are not quite ready for the big screen TV, but this screen size is absolutely perfect for watching movies in a medium-sized room. The big screen also makes today's Internet surfing, with more open windows and programs, much better. Lastly, the controls are futuristic, cool, and many. All inall, very good screen for the price. My first ever Gateway.

5 out of 5 stars Bargain Display exceeds expectations.......2007-03-21

The 24" widescreen display looked to good to be true. For the price I was willing to try it out.
After arrival I easily installed it. Telling all my operating systems about the new display was a tad harder. WindowsXP required some tinkering plus one reboot, Solaris/Xorg only needed some changes to the xorg.conf

The good:
- excellent brightness and responsiveness
- crisp image
- reasonable power consumption (~125W) (better than my 280W 21" CRT)

The untested:
- PIP, TV and other screen modes, no need to, please check out the other reviews.

The not so good:
- color-sync is hard. Compared to my Apple and the CRT the red colors are richer than they should be. Not really annoying, its like looking at Kodak Color GOLD pictures all the time... colors are shinier than reality... Getting to the appropriate balance is likely very difficult since the backlight does not have the appropriate spectral range. In the spectroscope the Apple screen has a more uniform spectrum. This however is a nit.

Overall:
Unless your work requires color-sync, this is a great monitor.
