But because not everyone is ready to fill their listening environment room with eight speakers, the AVR-785S also offers selectable modes for 5.1- and 6.1-channel setups as well as a Virtual Surround function that provides an enveloping sound for two-speaker systems or headphones. The receiver's power checks in at 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms from 20 Hz to 20 kHz or 115 watts per channel into 6 ohms at 1 kHz.
Precisely designed for high-power, high-quality sound reproduction, the AVR-785S contains a specially architected chassis that absorbs vibration and delivers a more faithful reproduction of the original sound. To make video connections simpler and more intuitive, the AVR-785S also offers video up-conversion for composite and/or S-video sources. Video up-conversion translates all the signals to high-bandwidth component video with absolutely no compromise in video quality.
Finally, the receiver performs 24-bit, 96 kHz analog-to-digital conversion on all stereo analog inputs except the multichannel analog jacks, along with 24-bit/192 kHz high-resolution digital-to-analog conversion on all eight surround channels to ensure premium playback sound. In addition, the adjustable high- and low-pass crossovers (40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 200, and 250) let you tailor the sound to suit your speakers and listening space.
Video connectivity stems from the three assignable sets of component video inputs, three S-video inputs, and four sets of composite inputs.
