Customer Reviews:
DO NOT BUY THIS - It will die.......2007-05-18
I ordered this unit March 21, 2007. It was wonderful while it lasted. Today it died. (May 18th 2007) Both the DVI and VGA ports are no longer working. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!
Defective DVI Port.......2007-04-21
This monitor had a great picture and excellent color, but...right from the start, it did not respond well to power-saving mode. It would not come out of power save - Have to restart PC, so had to keep a screen saver on all the time with no power save monitor shut off. Then the DVI port went bad, which made the video card surge and destroy my OTHER monitor (older CRT). Thought the video card was the bad guy so replaced with another card. That is how I found the problem to be the DVI port on the Sceptre monitor. Now using the VGA port, only one monitor, and hoping the thing will keep working long enough to get a new monitor (and not destroy the video card, or other components.) The price was good, but the quality is intolerable.
Nice Monitor for a month.......2007-03-30
Ok, I thought it was a great monitor when I first got it. Wonderful contrast OK picture, but then the thing started exuding poor quality.
Issue #1:
2 weeks after I bought it, the monitor's speakers "click" every 10 seconds when turned off.. Sceptre cust. service said it was a known issue caused by the power supply. Their solution: leave it on. I did, and covered the bright blue LED with black electrical tape. I can live with that, I guess.
Issue #2
The HDMI port died 35 days after purchase!! It only works with the analog VGA cable input which looks like dog. Then I search the internet and see all the horror stories of this same issue. Sceptre cust. support: they've never heard of this problem. Uh huh! So they make a poor quality product AND they refuse to admit a well known problem when you call them. I'm gonna get my money back by ebaying this thing. Too many stories of Sceptre taking 6-8 weeks and delivering another monitor where the DVI and HDMI ports fail even taking the display card down with it!
Disappointed........2007-03-20
Screen has some bleeding right in the center of the screen. Bottom of the screen has deviation in color (brownish hue), even though you can only see it if the screen is in B&W tones. A month after purchase DVI input went bad and I almost trashed my $400 video card thinking it was it. Sent back for repairs with my own freakin' expence. WTF is that? Thanks for reading.
P.S. Stick with big brands ViewSonic, Samsung.
Great Monitor.......2007-03-12
I had no trouble at all with this wonderful monitor. Having the other ports comes in handy. All in all it's a great monitor, the only problem I have is that the blue power light is incredibly bright.
