Customer Reviews:
Good quality phone w/o camera,.......2007-05-23
The V195 from Motorola is a flip phone with a large color screen inside, a 3 line B/W window outside and backlit keyboard with relatively large keys. It can be a speakerphone, but the audio quality leaves a bit to be desired. Sound quality is good and the volume can be adjusted up so you can hear your caller in somewhat noisy environments. It came with a wired earphone/mic whose quality is also good. Battery life is nearly as advertised.
However, when used with a Bluetooth headset - mine is Cardo Scala 500, one of the better BT headsets currently available and whose charge lasts 2 and sometimes 3 days, the V195's battery life sucks. With the BT on, I have to recharge the phone twice a day, and I don't spend that much time on the air. I complained to T-Mobile's 611 and the guy said it's normal to suffer some loss of time between charges. But this is ridiculous.
My other complaint is its inability to sync with my computer, a Mac - with BT, and USB ports - no workee. Hiss, boo Moto!
If you can do without Bluetooth, and live in the Windoze world, this is a good phone. Sound quality is excellent, it's the size and weight of a Wriggly's whopper pack of spearmint gum, doesn't have a camera - potentially a plus for some - and its T-Mobile friendly.
