By decoding five discrete audio channels, plus a separate subwoofer channel for dynamic low bass performance, Dolby Digital delivers crisp dialogue, breathtaking movement across the soundstage, and thunderous special effects. DTS (Digital Theater Systems) is an established digital multichannel audio format found mostly in movie theaters. DTS delivers six (5.1) channels of output sound, offering superior reproduction of DTS-encoded materials ranging from subtle details to the high-powered sound effects. Audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) recreates different sonic environments, simulating the acoustics of locations like arenas, churches, and clubs. Playing music through a DSP mode creates a more vivid, life-like listening experience. DSP delivers sounds sculpted to recreate the reflections and reverberations that make live performances so satisfying. Midnight Mode automatically adjusts the output level of all channels to allow greater enjoyment of home theater at low volume. A very useful feature when the kids are asleep.
