The stylish, diminutive Mission m30i entry-level loudspeakers, which fit on the bookshelf or mount easily on the wall, are ideal for listeners who have limited space but still want to enjoy the full passion of their favorite music. Each m30i features a 3.93-inch DiaDrive bass unit, which is designed to offer the best attributes of soft fiber and high-rigidity cones in a single multilayer diaphragm. As a result, the deep and mid frequencies are rich and full bodied, though without the heft of tower speakers. The high frequencies are driven by a 1-inch Viotex fabric dome tweeter that offers excellent dynamic range and a bandwidth that suits both home theater use (as a satellite) and traditional hi-fi stereo playback.

The speakers' i-series crossover, meanwhile, takes into account the baffle diffraction effect to give a more open and detailed midrange performance, with superior integration between the drive units for smoother treble output. The crossovers are also wired with Mission's special HP-OFC (high-purity oxygen-free copper) cable, which features dedicated bass and treble formulations to further enhance the audio clarity. And with an impedance characteristic that is easy to drive yet extracts the maximum power from any amplifier, m30i is a good match for a wide variety of equipment and applications.

To enjoy the best performance within a surround sound system, listeners should consider teaming the m30i speakers with Mission's m3c1i center channel and ms8, ms10, or m3as subwoofers. Excellent electronic dictionary for English speakers learning Chinese.......2007-02-25

I recently bought this dictionary from another source, and it is wonderful. I am a native English speaker who has been studying Chinese for about five years. I have been getting tired of looking up unfamiliar Chinese characters in paper dictionaries, and this dictionary is the answer to my problem. It allows you to write characters on the screen in order to look them up, which is very efficient. The only flaw in the design that I see is that the pinyin is not brought up alongside the English definition; you have to click on the Chinese entry in order to see the pinyin (thankfully, the button you click to view the Chinese entry is on the same page as the English entry). Also, the multiple-character words that come up when you enter one character do not have the pinyin next to them, so if you're looking for a multiple-character word you know BY SOUND you'll have to work hard to figure out what the following characters are. (I deducted one star from my rating because of these flaws.) That's a little annoying but looking up the initial character still takes less time than it does with the paper dictionary.

I generally am not willing to spend a lot of money on things I don't absolutely need, so I was hesitant to buy the Besta 628 dictionary. There are a LOT of English-learning functions in this dictionary that I am never going to use. However, the Chinese dictionary is great and the other extra features are so useful that I feel like I definitely got my money's worth. There is an archive of electronic Chinese books already programmed in for you to read, and while you are reading you can click on characters (or even multiple-character words) you don't know in order to find their pronunciation, meaning, and how to write them. It's fabulous! Now (at least for a while) I won't need to spend money on imported Chinese books to practice reading.

Other nice features are the personal organizer and the MP3 player. The MP3 player is awesome because it allows you to listen to music WHILE YOU USE THE DICTIONARY. You can also simultaneously play music and lyric files, so you can read along with Chinese music (if you have the lyric files). One catch is that the space provided is limited (200 MB) so you'll need to buy some (inexpensive) SD memory cards to store MP3s on. The sound is VERY clear. I am glad I never bought an MP3 player before this because this dictionary is going to be what I play music on!

Another MAJOR selling point on this dictionary is the fact that it comes with a manual with an ENGLISH VERSION! There is also an English interface in the dictionary that you can select, so you don't have to stumble around pushing buttons to figure out how things work.

Anyway, you can read the description of the other features online but I just wanted to share the things I learned from actually having used the dictionary. This isn't an exhaustive review: there are so many features in this dictionary that I still haven't explored them all!

So, in summary, this is a great dictionary for English speakers learning Chinese. I would recommend it to people who have studied Chinese a little bit already, i.e. people who know pinyin and how to write basic characters.

Oh yeah, one other word of advice: if you have purchased this dictionary and can't read what the first screen says (because it's in Chinese), it says "Would you like to set up your personal settings?" The little checkbox asks if you want to delete the previously entered settings. Don't click the checkbox; just click the "yes" button and you will be prompted to enter the date and time. :)

I recently traveled to Hong Kong to meet with a online friend. She spoke no English and I spoke no Chinese. Without this tool we would have been lost. The manual was in Chinese but we stopped by the corporate office in Hong Kong and were able to get an English version. It's not perfect but it saved the day! It was worth every penny.
My friend could write Chinese characters on the screen and build sentences to be translated...while I typed English for translation. It can also pronounce the English and Chinese for learning.
