The speaker's 4-inch graphite-loaded homopolymer (GLH) woofer responds cleanly down to 100 Hz--the critical frequency for proper blending with a subwoofer. This means there's no "acoustic hole" in the sound, making everything from movies to music sound rich and complex. The advanced 1-inch ferrofluid-cooled soft dome tweeter, meanwhile, includes a powerful neodymium magnet structure that handles the highs with grace. The end result is a speaker that excels as a stereo speaker (when paired with a subwoofer), or works wonders with four matching satellites and a subwoofer. It's especially ideal in smaller rooms that can't accommodate larger, more expensive systems.
The 920-LR-S's woofer and tweeter are vertically aligned, ensuring a wide left-to-right coverage that reaches almost every seat in the room while limiting the floor and ceiling reflections that often color the sound.
