The two-way bass reflex units are built around 5.25-inch dynamic fiber-cone woofers and 3-inch piezoelectric horn tweeters, along with dual 1.5-inch ports to enhance the bass response. The drivers combine to produce rich, full-bodied audio with a frequency response of 55 Hz to 25 kHz. Listeners can further increase the bass performance by adding a powered subwoofer to the mix--a must for any hip-hip- or trance-flavored party.
Appropriately for mobile speakers, the Rave-CB5s are built for durability, with corner protectors on each edge. The speakers also wear a charcoal carpet finish that both shields the exterior and dampens the audio just a bit to minimize bass distortion.
