Product Description
The main component of the TAKE 5.2 system, this brand new speaker design features completely redesigned transducers, cabinet, crossover and much more. It outperforms speakers larger in size and price. Combined with an S8.2 subwoofer, the Take2.2 gives flat, even response from below 30Hz to above 20kHz, which is the threshold of human hearing.

Energy helped redefine the surround speaker category when it first launched the Take family, which combined the small size of traditional satellite speakers with an audio performance that rivaled far larger, more expensive bookshelf and floor-standing systems. Energy has further refined its efforts on the second go round, resulting in the Take 2.2 satellite speakers, which excel as either front or rear surround speakers, or even as stereo speakers when matched with a subwoofer. Each speaker features a 3.5-inch long-throw homopolymer/aluminum cone woofer with a rubber surround to handle the low and mid ranges and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter for the highs. The audio performance is seamless and crisp, with perfect timbre, tonal balance, and accuracy. Whether you're listening to a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster, a low-budget indie, or your favorite jazz CD, the result is warm and enveloping.
Users with small listening areas will appreciate the Take 2.2s' relatively compact size, as each speaker checks in at 4 inches wide and 6.75 inches tall. The speakers are also magnetically shielded against video interference, so you can locate them on either side of the TV without distorting the picture. The speakers perform particularly well when teamed with another pair of Take 2.2s to fill out the front and rear channels and Energy's Take 1.2 center-channel speaker, which is tonally matched to create a flawless front soundstage and dramatic realism. However, the Take 2.2s can also be matched with other speaker brands, provided the listener adjusts for the unique tonal qualities of each unit.
Additional features include five-way binding post speaker connections, which ensure a high-quality signal transfer; a frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz; a nominal 8 ohm impedance; and a recommended power handling of 15 to 100 watts RMS. Each speaker, which sports a slick black finish, weighs 3.5 pounds and is backed by a generous five-year warranty on parts and labor.
