The Northridge E Series E90 floorstanding loudspeaker delivers superb audio, whether used for critical listening in a stereo system, or when combined with a Northridge E center channel, bookshelf surrounds and a subwoofer to create a home theater system. The E90 performs like a pro, with technology developed by JBL's Professional division. Equipped with JBL's tried-and-true titanium-laminate tweeters and PolyPlas drivers, the speaker reproduces high notes with extreme clarity. The lows and mids, efficiently boosted by dual 8-inch woofers and assisted by the FreeFlow flared port, are loud and clear, without unwanted distortion or boominess. The Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide ensures that every seat is the best in the house for sweet music and intelligible dialogue, or for just rocking out. Since the transducers were purpose-designed to work together harmoniously, JBL's simple Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover network divides the signal with minimal processing (and minimal opportunity to degrade the signal). At 9.88 inches wide and 40.25 inches tall, the JBL Northridge E90 floorstanding speaker takes up a solid amount of space--far more than the smaller bookshelf speakers currently in vogue. But the impressive sound that radiates from the speaker more than justifies its size. When used in conjunction with a second stereo speaker or as part of a comprehensive surround system, the speaker makes music and movies come alive with superb depth and unmatched clarity. The speaker includes a 0.75-inch titanium-laminate dome tweeter, which reproduces high notes and dialogue at the peak of precision.
