The perfect complement to today's stylish video displays and home theater systems, the Polk RM40T floorstanding speaker looks and sounds great when flanking a plasma or flat screen TV. The speaker is equipped with dual 4.5-inch polymer composite cone woofers and a single 1-inch silk/polymer composite dome tweeter, which combine to produce clear, distortion-free midrange frequencies (even at high volume levels) and crisp, sweet highs. And thanks to the broad dispersion design, there isn't a bad seat in the house, as the output spreads evenly throughout the listening area.

The quality is further enhanced by the stylish non-resonant aluminum enclosure and the patented PowerPort bass venting technology. The curved enclosure breaks up internal standing wave resonance to create a pure, lifelike sound, while the PowerPort bass vents--which are hidden under the grilles--extend and strengthen the lower midrange performance to ensure a seamless blend with the subwoofer output. The resulting midrange minimizes the "hole" between the speaker and sub frequencies, helping male vocals sound rich and full rather than thin and weak, as with most other sub/slim tower systems.
