The speaker uses three separate drivers optimized for specific frequency bands. In addition to the diecast aluminum cone woofer, the E-712 includes a lightweight, low-mass 5.25-inch midrange cone that renders smooth, clean vocals, and a balanced dome tweeter that offers high sensitivity with protection from thermal overloads. The drivers combine to produce an impressive 28 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and support amplifiers pumping up to 300 watts per channel.

The E-712 is sold as a single speaker, but excels in tandem with a second E-712 for stereo applications. Listeners can also team the speaker with other tonally matched Cerwin-Vegas to build a 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 home theater setup. Add a powered subwoofer to the mix for the ".1" low-frequency effects and you're ready to rock, though the E-712's 28 Hz low-frequency rating delivers plenty of bass even without a subwoofer.
