Give your stereo or surround sound system a terrific foundation with this pair of Energy XL-250 floorstanding speakers. Hailing from the XL series, which represents the leading edge in speaker design and performance, the speakers include dual 5.5-inch injection-molded mica and polypropylene cone woofers with a convex cone design. The unique shape ensures a fast, precise bass response--making movies and music sound powerful and explosive--while also minimizing distortion and cleaning up the midrange tone. In addition, the dual-woofer design can handle more power than many of Energy's other models (15 to 150 watts), so you can install them in larger rooms without sacrificing performance. Each speaker also includes a 0.75-inch aluminum dome tweeter to round out the high frequencies.

The speakers perform particularly well when matched with other XL series models, such as XL-150 bookshelf speakers and the XL-C100 center-channel speaker, in a surround sound setup. The XL-250s make great front speakers, with a generous frequency response of 42 Hz to 20 kHz, while the wide-dispersing XL-150s do well when connected to the rear channels. All the speakers are tonally matched--an essential quality in surround sound systems--to create a flawless overall soundstage and dramatic realism. Plus, each speaker is magnetically shielded against video interference, so you can locate them on either side of the TV without distorting the picture.

Additional features include five-way binding posts, which ensure the best possible sound; an 8 ohm nominal impedance; a 2.2 kHz crossover point; and a 93 dB sensitivity.
