Install a complete home theater speaker system in one easy step with the Polk RM20 six-piece unit. Consisting of four stylishly sculpted anodized-aluminum satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and a powered subwoofer, the system looks great next to the latest plasma and flat panel displays while delivering a rich, full-bodied sound. Each speaker comes with its own bolt-on swivel bracket for easy wall-mounting, or listeners can simply rest them on a bookshelf or other flat space (the front speakers include their own custom-designed shelf stands). More importantly, the speakers' minimal size doesn't detract from the sonic performance, as the system delivers an overall frequency response of 28 Hz to 24 kHz.

Each of the front satellites is equipped with dual 3.25-inch polymer composite midrange drivers and a 0.75-inch silk/polymer composite dome tweeter, while the rear satellites each feature a single 3.25-inch midrange driver and a tweeter. Combined, the drivers produce clear, distortion-free midrange frequencies and sweet, crisp highs. The center speaker also includes a second 3.25-inch polymer midrange driver in addition to the pair of standard drivers, giving movie dialogue the clarity and depth it deserves. To round out the system, Polk included a powered sub with a 12-inch driver and a slot-load vent for deep, tight bass.

The speakers employ the same PowerPort bass vent technology used in Polk's line of full-sized speakers, thus improving the lower midrange response. The result is a midrange with no "hole" between the center speaker and the sub frequencies, helping male vocals sound rich and full rather than thin and weak (as with most other sub/sat systems). The speakers also sport unique curved enclosures that help break up internal standing wave resonance for a purer, more lifelike sound.

Additional features include a rich pewter finish with deep charcoal trim; threaded inserts on the rear of the speakers for listeners who prefer fully articulating wall-mount brackets (sold separately); a broad dispersion design that lets everyone in the room enjoy the same high-end sound; and high-quality five-way binding post speaker inputs. And befitting a home theater speaker system, each unit is magnetically shielded against video interference, so you needn't worry about distorting the picture by locating the speakers too close to the TV.

The front satellites measure 4.38 by 12.5 by 5.06 inches (W x H x D), while the rear satellites check in at 4.38 by 7.06 by 5.06 inches. The center and sub, meanwhile, measure 12.5 by 4.5 by 5.06 inches and 15.12 by 16.75 by 16.19 inches respectively. In addition, the speakers are backed by a five-year warranty on parts and labor, while the subwoofer comes with its own three-year warranty.
