Want to take great Polk Audio speaker sound outdoors? Check out the indoor/outdoor 80-watt Atrium 45s. The stainless steel and brass hardware is completely rustproof, as are the aluminum brackets that allow multiple mounting options and full 90-degree rotation: aim them to deliver the best possible sound in a variety of locations. The rustproof aluminum grilles have 55 percent open area for superior sound quality. Most importantly, the Atrium 45s rugged, weatherproof, design meets or exceeds several military specifications for water, wind, salt, and corrosion.

Inside the completely sealed enclosure is a 4.5-inch Dynamic Balance mineral-filled polymer driver with butyl rubber suspension for pumping out amazing bass, while its .75-inch soft dome tweeter with neodymium magnet broadly distributes high frequencies to cover a large area with high fidelity sound. Polk's Dynamic Balance technology produces flat frequency response, sharp detail, transparency and an ability to play program material with wide dynamic range at life-like volume levels without a hint of strain. The sound is always clean, clear, and effortless. The sculpted front baffle and rounded enclosure minimizes diffraction (sound reflecting off of hard edges) for more open and lifelike imaging.

Connect them to an amplifier or receiver using the set's gold-plated five-way speaker-level binding posts. The Atrium 45s are also voice-matched to Polk's RTi speakers, and therefore make great surrounds in a complete Polk home theater system with the ability to handle up to 80 watts per channel.

Design
The a707 design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with its impressive media and data capabilities while maintaining a stylish and cool exterior. A large 240 x 320 full-color display with over 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary external display that can display time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The external screen can even be set to display a large analog clock. A TransFlash/MicroSD memory card slot is located on the right side of the phone while a 2.0-megapixel camera lens is housed above the external display. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad. Lastly, charging and USB data cable ports are placed on the bottom of the phone, keeping the phone's design compact and portable.

Calling Features
The a707's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones, and comes stock with unique ringtones built right into the unit, while more ringtones can be downloaded from Cingular Wireless' MEdia Net service. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert, and a built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear.

Because the a707 is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The a707 is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. With UMTS and HSDPA support built right into the phone, you'll be streaming and downloading at speeds so fast your head will spin. When used in combination with one of Cingular's MEdia Max plans that supports Cingular Video and MobiTV (additional Cingular charges apply), the a707 will allow you to play high-quality news clips, sports clips, weather clips, and more--right on your phone. And with Cingular's exclusive partnership with HBO Mobile and HBO Family Mobile, you'll never be at a loss for something good to watch.

Into sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, and sound and video via messages? When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video cameras, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Instant messaging is also supported via AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and ICQ (Cingular messaging charges apply). A number of handy software tools are bundled with the a707 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. Use the phone's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data.

Imaging and Entertainment
With features like 29 MB of built-in memory, and a preloaded mp3 player, the a707 shines in the entertainment department. When the feeling strikes you, jam out to your favorite music on the unit's advanced mp3 player, and because the a707 sports a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot, you can load up all your favorite music and bring it with you (memory cards sold separately). Great Phone.......2007-06-09

I'd had a Samsung in the past and loved it, so I purchased this phone from the Cingular store, mainly because of the 2mp camera, the quick and easy text features that Samsung phones always have, and the red color. I have an iPod that is smaller than a credit card so I don't really have need of the music feature, but it was a nice touch.

So far I've been extremely satisfied with the phone. It is a great-looking phone (not at all the neon color in the photos, its more of a dark red) with a pretty menu, great screen, and nice keys. Dialing numbers and sending and receiving texts is a pleasure. The camera is close to the best camera on a phone you'll find, excepting the Sony Ericsson W801i. There are a million shortcut menus including the little side button to select media player, camera, or profiles both with the phone open and even closed; the Options button when the phone is open; all of the direction keys can have a shortcut assigned (ex. up creates a new text, down views the address book, left opens IM, and right opens the media player); the Switch button allows you to open a call, go to the text message, or go on the internet, as well as do all three simultaneously; and there is a designated music button to go straight to the music player. The call reception is great, the sound is great although not quite as clear as a super cheap phone Sony I had.

There are a few caveats, unfortunately. The phone doesn't come with a USB cable, so its virtually impossible to put music on your phone without a MEdia Max plan or buying the cable. That sort of lessens the functionality of the music feature for me. It also doesn't come with headphones or even a jack. What is the point of that? I'm glad I didn't buy the phone for the music feature, so it doesn't really bother me. Also, there are much fewer customizable options than the last Sony I had, as far as like wallpapers and text. It ok though, because the phone already looks really good. A common complaint that I will repeat is the exterior screen. It is exceptionally low quality compared to the inner one, but its ok because it does display incoming calls with caller iD, text messages, and all kinds of alerts and options.

All in all, its a great phone for calling, texting, and taking pictures. If you want the music feature, don't bother with this phone, go with the Sony Ericsson w801i.
