The SoundSub IS-9A was designed to supplement the SoundSpot satellite speakers in the low bass frequency range, creating an acoustically homogeneous home cinema or hi-fi system. The SoundSub IS-9A employs two 9" (222mm) woofers in an extremely flat-profile enclosure. The woofer's rear-vented double magnet system and aluminum Hexatech coil allow for effortless deep bass power. The IS-9A uses the tandem dynamo acoustics design, which allows perfect acoustical loading of the enclosure and provides strong air circulation for high power-handling capabilities. The SoundSub IS-9A is an active subwoofer driven by a high-quality 120W amplifier, positioned at the rear of the enclosure. The amplifier features an automatic on/off switch, volume control, phase control, and crossover point control that allow seamless system integration. The IS-9A a slim designed active subwoofer powered subwoofer that can complement any speaker set up, though it's specifically designed to complement Morel's SoundSpot satellite speakers. The compact unit measures 23.5 by 15.77 by 8.75 inches (W x H x D) -- a nice size for otherwise cramped living rooms -- an is designed in a white isobaric and port-loading reflex cabinet. Note: New Morel speakers and components require 40 hours of "break-in" time before you'll achieve optimal performance. The response of any speaker will depend on how free the woofer cones are to move, and since new speaker components are bound to have stiff suspensions, a "loosening up" period should be allowed before passing final judgement on the system's performance.
