The RS-10A a slim designed active powered subwoofer that can complement any speaker set up, though it's specifically designed to complement Morel's SoundSpot satellite speakers. The compact unit measures a mere 18.7 by 15.7 by 8 inches (W x H x D) -- a nice size for otherwise cramped living rooms. The booming audio stems from the high-quality 60-watt amplifier and the single 10-inch woofer designed to emphasize high efficiency and superior control even at high levels. The result is a wide 30 to 140 Hz frequency response that adds depth and explosive dynamics to movies and music.

The sub also includes an automatic on/off switch -- essential for most applications -- and independent controls for the volume, phase, and crossover point. In addition, it sports both high- and low-level inputs/outputs, letting users configure the sub however they want. Additional features include a medium-density fiberboard enclosure, a port-loading reflex cabinet, and an attractive black finish. Note: New Morel speakers and components require 40 hours of "break-in" time before you'll achieve optimal performance. The response of any speaker will depend on how free the woofer cones are to move, and since new speaker components are bound to have stiff suspensions, a "loosening up" period should be allowed before passing final judgement on the system's performance.
