The AS-P400 is a high powered active subwoofer designed for use in high powered Audio Video systems, like a system comprised of AUDITION Series speakers from athena TECHNOLOGIES. A custom designed 400 watt peak, 100 watt RMS amplifier drives the over built 10" Injection Molded polypropylene woofer, both built in house in athena's Toronto facility. The cabinet is a front firing, front vented design which allows for much easier room placement than traditional rear vented designs.The controls have been conveniently located on the front of the sub. Easily reached and easily adjusted. The Frequency control utilizes athena's exclusive SCT or System Creation Technology by having specific settings for all of the AUDITION series models, as well as the Point 5 bookshelf. So set up couldn't be any more accurate, or simple. Just match the model number of your athena speakers to the settings on the dial, and plug the subwoofer in - that's it! The end result is an easy to set up subwoofer that will sound better due to athena's leading edge technology, and the innovation of SCT! Every audio/video system needs a subwoofer to truly realize the benefits of today's five-, six-, and seven-channel surround receivers and A/V sources (DVD, HDTV, and digital satellite transmissions). The AS-P400 Audition series subwoofer from Athena Technologies features a built-in 100 watt RMS amplifier (400 watts peak), an injection-molded 10-inch woofer, and a solid medium-density Fiberboard (MDF) speaker enclosure. The Mosfet (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) amplifier ensures fast, clean power transfers between the amp and the speaker cone. The sub is recommended for medium to large rooms.

Mate the AS-P400 with a complete Audition speaker package for easy and seamless system integration, or adjust its variable crossover (40 to 120 Hz) to match your existing speakers--the choice is yours.

Athena's exclusive System Creation Technology (SCT) system is the company's answer to the often complicated setup procedures for home theaters. The SCT frequency dial on the sub's front panel is marked with the model numbers of each of the Audition series speakers. Just match the dial to the model number of speakers you'll be using, turn up the volume to a suitable level, and you're done. Setup couldn't be easier with flexible, well marked connectors, ergonomic front-mounted controls (not ideal for households with young children), and front-mounted drivers and ports for easier placement in your room.

Finished in black ash with a unique silver baffle, the AS-P400 cosmetically matches the Audition speakers perfectly. The sub measures 11.4 by 18.5 by 15.4 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a five-year warranty on parts and labor
