The subwoofer is a vitally important component in home cinema systems. Low - frequency sounds, such as explosions, rumblings and scary music, add a lot to movie atmosphere, so full audio enjoyment requires deep, clear bass response. This is even truer with 5.1 - channel sound, because the sixth channel is the the Low Frequency Effect channel. In addition, without a subwoofer, you'll lose much of the bass effect at low volume levels.YST-SW320 uses Yamaha's Advanced YST, a unique system in which the speaker and amplifier work together to cancel out impedance so the speaker unit has a perfectly linear motion, as well as brandnew technologies such as QD-Bass to deliver exceptionally crisp, clean, powerful bass. QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses down-firing drivers with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate the sound efficiently in four horizontal directions. YST-SW320 has extremely efficient, high-power amplifiers built in, and uses extra-long stroke, drivers that provide outstanding power with low distortion.
