The professional edition has so much more for the coder and biller: anatomical illistrations, color coding and references to the CPT assistant for further clarifications. I have used the standard edition in the past, but the professional is so much better for my purposes.

My wife and I have lost weight every week we have tried this diet. It is very easy to understand and implement. The recipes are fantastic and very filling. We are amazed that we can lose weight and still eat most of the foods we love. We are eating better and feeling better than we have for years. The concept behind this book does not rely on gimmicks or unproven theories. The basic idea is that your body is like a calculator. What is added is calorie intake (weight you gain) what is subtracted is energy burned (weight you lose). The book explains how to easily calculate and eventually balance this equation. After trying a host of diets that were embarrassingly unscientific and unworkable it is nice to find one that is logical and practical.

For the longest time, I've struggled with prayer.
Then I got hold of this book

I thought I had to assume the position (on my knees, eyes closed)
I found standing at the bus stop, leaning over the copier or my child's bathtime works fine

I thought I needed eloquent, prayer-worthy verses to be heard
I found my everyday words get the message across to my Father

I thought I needed to finetune my pitch before knocking on the Boss's door
I found Someone who listens to everything I say- what I whine about, sob over- without judgement

I thought that I needed to schedule a set block of time
I found 5 second prayers work but I still to schedule a prayer date with my Friend- that works

I thought I repeat my personal requests over and over in case the first never made it passed my ceiling
I found I'm heard the first time and now I can spend the extra time praying for others who need it more than I

I'm only a few chapters into the book
... excited about what else I'll learn about my Friend

Jesus made this clear in Matthew 5 when he instructed us to pray for those who use and persecute you. But one of the unique prayers that Meyer highlights is the prayer of agreement. She argues that unity is a powerful and dynamic element to prayer. According to Psalm 133, it is good and even garners God's blessing. When two or more gather in Jesus's name, God promises to be with them, and the scripture tells us that if one can make 1,000 run away, then two can run off 10,000. Such unity doesn't come just when we pray together, but when we live in agreement with each other avoiding the pitfalls of gossip and slander that can tear people apart.

In addition, Meyer highlights 14 hindrances to answered prayer, including prayerlessness, sin, wrong motives, doubt, worry and unforgiveness.

Overall, this book speaks to the heart of the matter concerning prayer. It's clearly written and accessible. Both new and veteran believers will benefit from the truths and insights provided here.

Audio Version: Content Awesome, Not Read By Joyce.......2007-06-05
The content of this book is the best I've ever read (heard) on prayer. This is not a how to pray where someone goes through the principles of the Lord's Prayer. This is a great book with good analogies and examples and of course scripture to help you with your relationship with God. This is great stuff.

I bought this audio book to listen to while on a road trip. I was very disappointed to find out that Joyce wasn't actually reading the book, because her delivery of material is very good. The audio book reader's delivery was mechanical and matter-of-fact because she is reading someone else's word. If you are reading the book you can imagine Joyce's voice, but it's kind of distracting when the audio reader talks about personal experience and you have consciously think this is not the audio reader's story its Joyce's story. That was distracting at the beginning, but by CD 2 I had gotten over it, or maybe I had just gotten better in pretending Joyce was speaking.

If I had to do it again I would buy the book and not the audio CDs.

This is the best book on prayer I have read in a while. Joyce does not present herself as a prosperity teacher in this book. On page 14 Joyce says,

"As you grow in your friendship with God, never forget that your relationship is based on who He is and no on what He can do for you. Keep seeking His presence, not His presents; keep seeking His face, not only His hand."

She even quotes the prince of preachers, Charles Spurgeon, throughout her book.

I bought 2 of these Bibles as gifts for my sisters, and they both really enjoyed it. They both like the fact that Joyce Meyer points out the significance in parts of Scripture that ordinarily people would gloss over, and she does an excellent job of applying lessons that one would ordinarily not get out of certain parts of the Bible. I would highly recommend this Bible or the Life Application Bible to everyone.

I recently purchased The Everyday Life Bible and absolutely love it! I have always been a fan of Joyce Meyer because she "tells it like it is". When I try to read the King James version of the Bible I just can't understand alot of it and I get discouraged. Now, I am excited about sitting down and reading The Everyday Life Bible because I can understand it and I'm learning so much and I'm on my way to a closer walk with the Lord. I will preface this by saying that I am just beginning my path back to God and that I have tried reading many Bibles but often felt like I was left feeling like "yeah, that's all well and good but what does this have to do with my life right now?".

Last fall, I lost my job. That was a devastating event for me (which, in retrospect, turned out to be a blessing). I had tremendous anger -- at my former employer, at my family that seemed unwilling to help, at my husband, at the world... While "consoling myself" by indulging in a trip to Barnes and Noble -- one of my favorite haunts -- something drew me to the aisle full of Bibles.

I picked up this Bible and flipped it open and what I read -- both from the Scripture and from Ms. Meyers -- really spoke to me. No matter the subject, Ms. Meyers has a way of discussing it that tells me that she has been there and struggled with the same things I struggle with. She is able to make even the most difficult passages seem relevant and is able to tie it into every day real world life.... thus the name.

By reading this Bible, I have been able to find peace, grow in faith, develop stronger relationships and start being the person I know that God wants me to be.

I think many people read the Bible but after they are done reading, they put it away and go on with life as usual. This Bible makes it difficult to just "put away" because on every page, you are guaranteed to read something that will tie into something that is currently happening in your life. THAT, to me, is truly what sets this Bible apart from all the rest.

A good friend of mine purchased this same Bible. I really liked it because not only is it amplified, but it has commentary by Joyce Meyer, which is very helpful and uplifting. When I checked on Amazon.Com to see if it was available, I was excited to find that I could purchase the leather covered Bible on Amazon.Com for the lesser price of the paperback issue on other websites. I immediately ordered the Bible and received it in three days.

I have successfully used lessons from "Organizational Behavior: An Experiential Approach" during consulting engagements in both private and public sectors, in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and in graduate business education. Consistently, through `experiential approaches' as described in "Organizational Behavior", adults learn more useful lessons from their experiences, learn what their lessons mean, learn how to generalize their learning for other applicable situations, AND apply more of their learning when they are back on the job. Experiential learning goes beyond merely increasing knowledge and actually changes individual (and organizational) behavior.
I highly recommend "Organizational Behavior: An Experiential Approach" for everyone working to achieve results through other people--and also for anyone seeking to better understand themselves and how they interact with other people.

This book is great. I bought it thinking that I'd use it just for my organizational behavior class and I was wrong. The group exercises will definitely come in handy in future group assignments and in the workplace.

This is a very practical book. Sometimes the authors say things like "set up your prefernces" , which to me is not helpful. Since I am new to computer's I don't have any! I wish they would give their preferences. Just tell me what to do! Most of the book is good, because there is a lot of hands-on excercises. The practices help to cement the ideas. One thing about the Vista OS though is you will find a help button in each window you open. This book tells you where thoughs windows are. It's easy to follow. Buy this book! It's worth it. I didn't know there was so many things to learn until I got it.

This book is a good guide to the Vista operating system for someone with only a smattering of knowledge about the subject. It's clearly written in a rational manner, so I liked it a lot. Expect an occasional exasperating experience when you find the Vista coding has been changed since the book was written. I had to keep reminding myself that the atrocious features of the Vista system are not the fault of the book--it only reports what the system is doing.

This book has several chapters that are useful overviews of systems & abnormalities but there are numerous gaping holes in information, which is quite frustrating, and tends to be laking universal organization (bad editors?). Bates is WAY better.

This book was wonderful. It really opens your mind to the importance of having the right mindset. I read this book from beginning to end without taking any notes, but I will be reading it a second time, taking notes. There is so much knowledge in this book, I recommend it to all women and men. I like the way she handles her use of scriptures in the book. Instead of just giving the place of the scripture ex: ( see Matthew 1:1) she actually quotes the entire scripture. I liked that.

This is an excellent book for those who are experiencing battles in your mind. What I personally like about the book is that Joyce opens herself up to the reader and shares a few of her own personal experiences and triumphs in this area. I give it 5 stars and a special thanks to the Author for allowing it to be written.

Joyce is a great author.......2007-05-08
For months I felt the prodding of the Holy Spirit to buy this book. I kept putting it off and finally I went out one day and picked it up. It helped me so much to understand what was going on in my mind and that many things...especially the passive spirit and distracted spirit was something from the devil. I will read this book again and again. Your mind is definitely a battlefield and if you are going to win the war you need to educate yourself and understand what is going on. The devils influences on you and your mind are great and powerful if you don't know how to guard yourself. It takes time, practice, confidence and education to be able to do this. And it never ends, you must guard yourself always, which is easier said then done. Joyce is a wonderful teacher and a very gifted woman of God. I enjoy her books, DVD's and her shows and highly encourage you to surround yourself with her teachings. She helped to lead me to the Lord and has helped to further my walk with him. I hope that this book helps you as much as it has helped me.
Just be careful (Chapter 8).......2007-04-19
As a more conservative Christian, I question the incarnation between the life of Jesus who had not a place to lay his head and the life of luxury enjoyed by the Meyer family. Although I am not fond of the whole Christian rock scene and idolizing of certain authors and religious figures, that is not to say that God cannot use them for His purposes. I would say to be careful about some of the content of her book; but I have also been encouraged by the insight into scripture. Joyce's positive attitude and advice on keeping our thought life in control and breaking the strongholds that the devil try's to put into all Christians' minds is important. Also, how she points to the scriptures that tell us to let all thoughts be captive to Christ. I may not agree that this is accomplished with big evangelistic meetings, fog machines, drums, keyboards, speaking in tongues, etc. but I can take this information and apply it ty my own life in my understanding of where God wants me to be. So, although I appreciate the book, I would also caution that you test everything she says and use discernment, pray before you read the Bible and any "spiritual" book.

When I reached chapter 8 Joyce says on pages 82 and 83 that speaking in tongues is meant to be interpreted and not translated therefore tongues are not a word for word translation but somebody speaks and another interprets (guesses) what is being said. However, when I looked up the word "interpret" and the context is is being used in the Book of Corinthians, in the Strong's Concordance, in the original Greek language, it means "to translate" ... Which is waht the original gift of tongues was at Pentacost. To translate the gospel into the languages of the visitors from different countries and they were literal real languages and literal real translations, not babbling in tongues and some guessing or feeling what the other person is saying.
