About the Artist
Enclosed you will find a sample of Cliff Jarvis most recent recordings. As producer and songwriter, Cliff has dazzled audiences with a collaboration of traditional and modern jazz combined with a funk undertone. He studied at the HARTT School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut focusing on jazz and was blessed to be able to work with the great jazz saxophonist Jackie Mclean as his mentor.
Cliff is a native of Hartford and began his career as a solo pianist in Hartfords most elite jazz cafes including the Blue Star Café, 36 Lewis Street, and the 440 Lounge. His international performances at the famous Jazz No Jazz festival in Zurich, Switzerland with former band Head To Toe has earned him an invitation for annual appearances.
In 1999, while looking to record a new demo, Cliff reviewed many local studios and Prophet Records recording studio was one of them. While recording his demo, Prophet Records executives were buzzing about Cliff and his work. It was agreed that his talent was exceptional and Prophet Records offered a deal.
Cliff has received an overwhelming response from jazz, r&b, and funk music lovers young and old. Look forward to hearing Cliff Jarvis forthcoming CD, Universal, released on the Prophet label in January 2000.
