About the Artist
18 year old Hideaki Aomori began study of the clarinet at the age of 8. Private instruction on alto saxophone followed two years later. By age sixteen Hideaki's proficiency on alto resulted in his being chosen a member of the Grammy High School Jazz Ensemble that performed at the Grammy awards in February 1999. Also an active classical clarinet player performing with various orchestras at Carnegie Hall, Hideaki had his first solo appearance May 15, 2000 performing the Weber Clarinet Concerto with the Children's Orchestra Society at Alice Tully Hall. He will enter the Juilliard School of Music on a performance scholarship in September, 2000.
