About the Artist
Daniel Nahmod, has performed over 300 times as a headlining singer/songwriter since settling in Los Angeles in 1998. His performances on both piano and guitar are universally acclaimed for their style, humor, spontaneity, variety, and especially their spectacular musicality. Audiences have included the Governor of California, the Mayors of Jerusalem and Los Angeles, and countless thousands of fans in coffee shops, jazz clubs, churches and synagogues, retirement homes, private parties, benefit events, and radio audiences across the United States and Canada.
"Twilight Time" is Daniel's third full-length CD release. His first, "If You Make It So" (available on Amazon.com), highlights Daniel's gift for inspirational songwriting. Such songs as "God Makes Me Want To Sing" and "And So Are We" have become favorites for congregations and choirs across North America. His second CD, "Serenity", is an utterly soothing instrumental collection of melodies and meditations for piano, flute and cello. With "Twilight Time", Daniel further broadens his recorded legacy by demonstrating a true mastery of a seemingly long-lost artform: The popular song. From Hoagy Carmichael on down to Nat Cole, Daniel clearly honors and respects the kind of songwriting that lasts forever. And his performances, on piano and voice, certainly do that rarified artform justice.
Daniel Nahmod is, to be sure, a young artist with a grand future.
Product Description
"Twilight Time" is a collection of romantic jazz songs by noted L.A. singer/songwriter/pianist Daniel Nahmod.
The album features eleven original compositions, including several certain standards-of-the-future: "Dancing", "Your Love Is Thanks Enough", and "We Were Young And It Was Summer", to name a few. The album also displays Daniel's sweet and superb tenor on new acoustic versions of Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust" and the Gershwins' "Embraceable You".
All in all, it's a collection of great NEW 'old-fashioned' popular music in the spirit of Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, and Jerome Kern. And the singing? Imagine a young Nat King Cole, and you get the idea. "Twilight Time" is an album that's sure to touch your heart.
