Editorial Reviews
Cadence Review
"In a program of six originals and covers by Miles Davis and Don Cherry, Flatland explores atmospheric fusion grooves in the tradition of Tony William's Lifetime, one of the first and most memorable of all fusion outfits. "The Atari Effect" and "Good Grief" feature intense smears of feedback. I like the amplified rudimentary grooves of this power trio's free-form rock minimalism. Recommended to those who relish amplified hardcore improvised jam sessions."
Product Description
Portland's visceral acid jazz trio blurs the lines between jazz and rock with blistering improvisations on and around some nasty and hypnotic grooves. They regularly appear in NW rock and jazz clubs with punk bands, hard-bop sextets, hip-hop groups and in recent double bills with Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters and the Charlie Hunter Group.
