About the Artist
Doug Robinson (or Jazzooo, as he's known to the online jazz community) is a composer and multi-instrumentalist (16 instruments). He grew up in San Diego playing with Nathan East (Fourplay), Hollis Gentry lll (Larry Carlton, Stanley Clarke), and Carl Evans Jr. (Fattburger). Later, Robinson studied with bebop trombone legend Frank Rehak.

Through his alternate career in creative advertising, Doug's music has been featured on literally hundreds of thousands of CDs used as unique corporate premiums.

This album, Doug Robinson Plays Well With Others, features Doug playing live in the studio with some of jazz's most innovative living players, including Mike Stern and John Patitucci.

This is dynamic modern jazz which comes from a mainstream place but integrates some contemporary influences. No drum machines, no noodling over two-chord vamps. Just beautiful writing and explosive improvisation from the composer and Mike Stern, John Patitucci and the band. Think Pat Metheny jamming with Don Grolnick, in Zappa's garage.

The album closer, The Man With The Horn, features the last recorded performance of Robinson's mentor, bebop trombonist Frank Rehak.
