Many magazine writers agree that most lounge acts in Las Vegas seem to be playing from the same song list. Not so with Windjammer, by incorporating a world music conceptwith strong jazz influences and improvisations, they have infused their talents into a performance style that is quite unique.The four person band known as Arnold Duprey & The Windjammer Band was formed in San Francisco in the late eighties. When Arnold Duprey relocated to Las Vegas he reformed the band with James D'Arrigo, Marcel Longfellow And Tony Rudolpho.The members all bring a wealth of experience to the group. Arnold Duprey arranges music for various bands in both his homeland of Trinidad and the United States, He also plays the steeldrums and electric bass. James D'Arrigo performaqnce credits include American Bandstand, Joel Gray, and Susan Anton. He also holds a Masters Degree in music. Anthony"Tony" Rudolpho studied drums and percussion in his native Trinidad, toured with the group Atlantik and has played in jazz festivals in Europe,Japan and Latin America. Marcel Longfellow toured the Middle East, Hong Kong, and South America and is versed in a number of exotic styles. He plays acoustic nylon string guitar with the Windjammer which along with the steeldrums gives the band its signature sound.
