The debut CD from David Blake mixes Blake's rock 'n roll roots with a slight jazz/funk edge. Some have called it alternative jazz because of the underlying groove in most of the songs, but the 12 song CD is firmly planted in the rock 'n roll genre. From the eccentric electric slide guitar on "it takes u" to the funky acoustic guitars and answering vocal harmonies on the opener "hey hey," there is a lot of diversity on this CD. The title track "shine" is infused with a funky groove and riddled with off the wall lyrics. Check it out!
