Kickin'It is a Jazz/Funk album (Acid Jazz if I must label it). Steve Clarke is a bassist/composer of all the songs. The CD displays a beautiful range of composites. From the outlandish bebop sax work over an ostinato synth bass on trk 2, to he muted trumpet sound reminiscent of Miles on trk 6. It also displays the bass as a powerful and melodic instrument.
