About the Artist
The Christopher Gross Ensemble is a Seattle based instrumental group that combines elements of rock, latin, samba, jazz, soca, and funk to form it's sound. The group's compositions centered around guitar, keyboards, and violin, plays synchronized parts, sometimes harmonized in the fashion of a horn section, widely ranging in tempo, backed up by a solid rythm section! Conceived of and formed in 1997 by guitarist/composer Christopher Gross, the band was inspired by the jazz fusion genre made popular in the 1970's by John Mclaughlin, Chic Corea, and Jean Luc Ponty. The band is made up of some of the Northwest's finest players such as David Pascal on bass, Christopher Monroe on Drums, Christopher Welch on keyboards, and Jeffrey Sick on electic violin. The "Hit the Mark" cd also features founding member Greg Fulton on guitar.
