This is one tight trio. Erika's warm, romantic, vocal waltz original on track 1 could very well become a standard.
Product Description
Here is a collection of swingin' classic holiday standards and holiday original songs guaranteed to lift your spirits. Erika Paul sings in her sweet, cabaret style while playing the piano and supported by talented musicians, bassist Paul Binnings and drummer Pete Spomer. Track 1 is an Erika Paul original, a warm, romantic holiday waltz that has been described as a song that could very well become a holiday standard. Track 2 is a rompin' shuffle blues original that will fire up the spirit for anything the holidays may bring. Tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are classic holiday standards that this trio created unusually hip, surprise arrangements for. Track 8 is a tear-jerker, a beautiful ballad Erika wrote with lyrics inspired by her mom, that reflect a child's view of Christmas without a daddy. Tracks 9, 10 , 11 and 12 are more jazzed-up, spunky arrangements of classic holiday numbers where Erika's playful vocals soar and dance around the melodies above exceptional piano,! bass and drum trio playing. Track 13 was an accidental discovery of a beautifully obcsure holiday standard that Erika arranged in bossa nova form and sings and plays it effortlessly from the heart. Track 14 is a high energy, more modern jazz treatment of one of the oldest holiday standards around and it really swings. On track 15, Erika's vocals are breathlessly beautiful on this popular song from the Peanuts' cartoon. Erika and her sidemen seem to be exceptionally gifted at performing ballads, as this track shows. Finally, another Paul original, track 16 is a spunky salsa to swing number that makes you want to get up and dance as it demonstrates playful, rhythmically contagious singing and instrument playing.
