About the Artist
Mieczyslaw Wolny has a long record of performing, recording and composing music. His compositions recorder for Polish Radio Orchestra -Katowice and Opole were widely used in broadcast media. Mieczyslaw Wolny is a flexible musician in the areas of Jazz, Smooth-Jazz, Pop and Classical music. He was awarded a first place in Jazz Competition for Jazz Improvisation in Katowice. He perfomed for 'Jazz Jamboree' Warsaw and 'Jazz nad Odra' major jazz festivals in Poland. Lately residing in Chicago he has perform and record music with Chicago's very own Patricia Barber, Rusty Jones, Art Davis, Bill Boris, Ed Harris, Nick Tountis, Larry Novak, Robert Irwing III, Grazyna Auguscik, Marcin Januszkiewicz, Paul Jarzebski. "Her soft Smile" is his first solo album.

With his Chicago friends - Art Davis on flugelhorn, Bill Boris on guitar who add some tuneful solos -Mieczyslaw Wolny himself programmed drums, bass and keyboard parts in most of the tracks, and some of the songs with the help of Robert Irwing III and Michael Stygar.
