The Best of Summer Nights at MOCA, the first CD produced by the museum, features live performances by some of the region's most gifted jazz musicians, rising stars and internationally acclaimed artists. Among the artists on the album are Sandra Booker, Bobby Matos and Charles Lloyd. Best of Summer Nights represents a collaboration between MOCA and the jazz community in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, home to World Stage, a storefront performance/workshop space and club.

The Museum of Contemporary Art has released a limited edition CD compiling highlights of the museum's free outdoor concert series, "Summer Nights At MOCA." "The Best Of Summer Nights At MOCA" is the first CD of its kind produced by the museum.
Featuring rare performances by some of the region's most gifted jazz musicians, rising stars and internationally acclaimed artists, the CD represents the continuing collaboration between MOCA and the jazz community centered in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, home to the World Stage. The World Stage is a storefront performance/workshop space and club that is home to many jazz musicians. Dennis Sullivan, independent producer and concert organizer produced the CD.
The CD features live performances by Ernie Andrews, Joe Bonner and Michael White, Sandra Booker, Billy Harris, Billy Higgins, Charles Lloyd, Bobby Matos, and Barbara Morrison recorded at "Summer Nights at MOCA" 1998.
"This CD captures the electricity of performing live before an enthusiastic, capacity audience which inspires the musicians and allows the music to flow freely," said Sylvia Hohri, MOCA director of Marketing and Public Relations.
