Product Description
The selections on Jazz, Romance, & Passion are an eclectic mixture of jazz standards, world beat, rhythm and blues, and popular selections. The disc opens with "Sweet Love", originally recorded by Anita Baker. Marcus & Lisa put a jazzy, R & B spin to this hit. "Time After Time" has been performed by rock star Cindi Lauper, and jazz artists Miles Davis, and Tuck and Patti. This is a slower-paced, atmospheric version of the song. "When Sunny Gets Blue" is a jazz and pop favorite. Russel Lyles sax puts a smokey edge to it. "My One and Only Love" was done to popular acclaim by Johnny Hartmann and legendary saxophonist John Coltrane. Lisa loved it immediately when she first heard it and was thrilled to discover that the lyrics and melody were just as powerful as the instrumental portion of the song. "You Mean the World to Me" is given a jazzier feel than the stylized original by Toni Braxton. "One Note Samba" is a simple, rhytmically-driven version of Antonio Carlos Jobim's original version.

Original Selections
"Its Lyrical" has strong Brazilian influences and a steamy saxophone solo by Russell Lyles.
"Passport East" combines sounds of the Near East, the Far East, and East Africa. While Passport East has some jazz-styled improvisation, it evokes the exotic sights, smells and sounds of faraway places.
"St. Catherine Street" in Montreal comes alive at night. Teen-agers, college students, and young adults converge on the bistros, bars and clubs that flank both sides of this famous thoroghfare and its side streets. The insistent urban beat of the music reflects the multi-cultural interactions of French and English Canadians, West Indians, and Asians, as they come together on a summers evening.

"Carmen's Tide" was inspired by Carmen and the beauty of the sea and island life.
Other original selections include Jazz-It Blues, Never Say Never, and Red Rock Canyon.
