About the Artist
The Often Ensemble is one expression of an on-going musical collaboration between Chalazon Clark (flute, saxophone) and Johann Helton (guitar, bass and synthsizer)that had its beginnings in 1972. The drumming talents of Lawson Hill are an important part of this new album.

'Mosaic' by The Often Ensemble is an album of instrumental music featuring flute, alto saxophone, nylon-string and electric guitar, upright and electric bass, synthesizer, drums and percussion. The emphasis of the collection is musical story-telling. The moods range from up and toe-tapping to slow and dreamy. The musical genre is not Jazz or New Age or Rock, but incorporates elements of each. Subsequent listenings reveal more and more of the carefully constructed musical adventurings. A listeners feast!
