About the Artist
Dave Hubbard has been and continues to be an inspiring force in music as a performer, teacher and composer. He began on the tenor saxophone professionally at age 13 with the Baltimore Municipal Park Band. In 1960 he toured with legendary R&B star Maxine Brown. In 1963 Dave started a jazz group that included saxophonist Gary Bartz (Miles Davis group, Max Roach group, etc.), drummer/composer Joe Chambers and pianist Lonnie Liston Smith. Dave's career includes tours with Ray Charles, Ethel Ennis, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Dorham, Roy Haynes, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Charles Earland, Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes, George Benson and many others.
