About the Artist
Their backgrounds in classical, jazz, rock, and pop give Buddhas Belly a jazzy-funky-jam-rock sound of its own. The indefinable blend of genres coupled with their instrumentation give the belly a sound and feel like no other. They have entertained crowds in an assortment of venues, ranging from Chicagos Beat Kitchen to Evanstons Nevins Live, sharing the stage with such bands as Umphreys McGee and Rays Music Exchange. Definetly a band on the upswing, expect to see the belly playing more shows around Chicago and the midwest.
Product Description
This is the belly's first studio album. Recorded in Chicago in late 2001, it captures the spirit of improv found at their many shows. With influences of jazz, rock, jam and funk, the belly's unique live sound comes through on the album. These dark funky grooves are garunteed to keep everybody from a jazz enthusiast to a jam band junkie on their feet.
