About the Artist
Joel Penner is a veteran of the Los Angeles and San Francisco music scenes. He has performed with such varied artists as Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, Glen Campbell, and Florence Henderson.
The Joel Penner Sextet features some of Los Angeles' finest. The band features guitarist Doug McDonald, one of the world's best. Doug has recorded several CDs under his own name featuring performers such as Ray Brown, Plas Johnson and Jake Hanna. He has also recorded with Bill Holman, Ernie Andrews, Jack Sheldon and the Clayton/Hamilton Orchestra. The band also includes bass player Bill Von Ravensberg,Cengiz Yaltkaya on keyboards,drummer Jerry Redmond and saxophone player Michael Rose. These musicians also have varied backgrounds, having performed with such artists as Doc Severenson, Tom Jones, Ray Anthony, Thelma Houston, Della Reese, Joanie Sommers and many more.
