Few jazz guitarists could claim to be the Chicago mainstay found in Bill Boris. He’s toured with the late Charles Earland and recorded with Irene Reid on her latest release. While he has a Chicago, urban groove of his own, his style could best be compared to that of Wes Montgomery and his timbre to that of John Scofield. His songwriting is definitely in a contemporary vein, with songs easily worthy of major market listening.
