Liqwid is a fitting name for this instrumental trio; the fluid sounds produced seem to flow effortlessly between genres and have the ability to settle into any shape or form.

Liqwid features Chris DiStasio (guitar, timbales), Paul Hemmer (bass, congas) and Shawn Drogan (drums, percussion). Since forming in 1999 in Rochester, NY, Liqwid has released two albums and has performed continuously throughout the northeast.

Liqwid's progressive style displays a fusion of rock, jazz, and funk blended with more traditional rhythms of Africa, Cuba, Brazil and beyond. Lavish polyrhythms punctuated by hypnotic bass lines and colorful melodies paint visual soundscapes for the listener. Live performances feature original compositions and a few unexpected covers. Emphasizing groove and improvisation, each performance is unique.

In 2000, Liqwid teamed up with Furry Thug Productions, formed by Tom Marshall (Phish lyricist) and Andy Navarro to help spread the word about up and coming artists. Later that year, Liqwid joined Marshall's band, Amfibian, and The Saras on a tour throughout the Northeast, playing to packed houses. Since that time, Liqwid has been focused on honing their skills, and touring in a continual effort to reach more ears with their unique music.
