From the Artist
Life, Love, Together - Three things that give me a truly great feeling -- Good Life, sweet Love and being Together with the ones I love.
Will To Love - Love is a power act and a wonderful expression. No matter what the temptation is to do otherwise, take a stand and demonstrate the WILL TO LOVE everyone.
Flow Brazil - This "self-empowerment" theme is placed in the setting of poly-rhythmic funk and then to a fast samba.
Personal Passions - Obviously, the title song holds a very special meaning. It represents the things that we find are most worthy of our sweat, tears, dreams and tenacious efforts.
My Woman, My Life - This is a sensitive and moving ballad that takes you to the joy of having a true relationship with a fine woman.
Hold Me - A warm, romantic offering with a plea for affection and embrace. Im showing a sensitive side of me, with an appetite for cuddling and being up close.
Wonder Tomorrow - A inspirational waltzing tempo and quasi-gospel vibe gives rise to reflections of how a relationship could have been save, if one were more careful with their words.
Backrub In The Hot Tub - A simple, but sexy groove that sets you in a trance for what is implied. The straight kick drum beat thumps and thumps underneath the consistent chorus line making for an atmosphere of pleasure.
Rise To The Highs - Cool and delicious is what best describes this composition. It just lays right there with an expressive melody and an incessant rhythm that takes you for a ride and just keeps on going.
Something More - Sometimes winning the attention of that special lady or getting back in "right standing" means a full-scale address; which means demonstrating all the tools of romance, chivalry and then some.
Mainstreet Reunion - Making this powerful, rhythm driven composition was a real joy. It brings to mind, an awesome reunion of people that tells of a very strong alliance made in times past. The feeling is intense.
Product Description
Gerald Miller delivers a strong offering of warm vocals and jazzy guitar on his debut CD recording, Personal Passions. Gerald is joined by soloists, Kevin Flournoy on keyboards and Rodney Taylor on saxophone.
There are 8 songs with vocals and 3 three fully instrumental. The CD bespeaks of Geralds three decades as a singer, guitarist, composer and arranger. The music is contemporary jazz and r&b with vocals or "smooth jazz" as deejays would call it. There is a good range of themes to appreciate on the CD; some romantic, some inspirational and some funky stuff all well-placed in an improvisational setting. Theres even a poly-rhythmic brazilian piece that whips in to a fast samba.
