Editorial Reviews
From the Label
Finally a great group of musical talent who are also entertaining. Ryan'sRaiders have a mission and that is to entertain their audience. This album, recorded LIVE at the Cathedral City Jazz Festival in Cathedral City, CA, is really worth having in anyones collection no matter what style of music they prefer. It is part traditional jazz, part comedy, and collectively a very humorous and entertaining CD. Another big surprise on this recording is the tenor saxophone work of young Tom Catanzaro. Tom is fourteen years old from Hemet, CA. He plays like a veteran musician. He has a passion for jazz and the listener will be absolutely amazed at the depth of emotion Tom displays on These Foolish Things. When Tom and Philip Smith team up for a rollicking Undecided you will be cheering along with the crowd. There is great banjo playing from one of the best in the business; Gary Ryan. The solid bass lines of Tom Shader and his infectious laugh can be felt throughout the CD. Ryan's Raiders make every effort to include the audience in their performance and you will hear and feel a group that loves to give you your moneys worth. Here it is in on e CD; great music, laughter and a preview of one of the next giants of jazz in Tom Catanzaro. Oh, and just to prove they don't take themselves too seriously, the band included some really funny and horrible goofs at the end as outakes.:
Product Description
This is a musical comedy album that was recorded LIVE in Palm Springs, CA. The group is made up of banjo, reeds and bass. The band shows its great musical ability one minute and then the next minute are pulling off gags and telling jokes. Interaction with the audience is obvious and the laughter is real. The CD also features the phenomenal Tom Catanzaro, a fourteen year old tenor saxophonist, who plays so well the listener will not believe their own ears. He is destined to be one of the next giants of jazz. This CD is very entertaining as well as musical. :
